Spring break has arrived in Orlando — ranked among the 18 Cheapest Places to Travel in 2023 according to Kayak. We asked our followers on Instagram what they were most looking forward to doing in Orlando this spring. At the risk of spoilers, they want to experience everything (literally!), but we’ve narrowed down their choices to the top 10 favorites presented here.

10. Theme Park Fun

This might come as a surprise, but yes: Orlando fans can’t get enough of our theme parks. Those at Walt Disney World® Resort and Universal Orlando Resort received the most votes, but there was lots of excitement for those at SeaWorld® Orlando and LEGOLAND® Florida Resort, too. Between new rides, shows, restaurants and events, we can’t blame them.

9. Shopping

Serious shoppers, start your engines. No matter if you prefer amenity-packed malls, value-priced designer outlets, bespoke boutiques in quaint neighborhoods, or a combination of all that and more, you’ll find it in Orlando — and all within a 15-mile radius of our main tourism districts.

8. Amazing Food & Drink

Many of our fans are ready to eat their way through Orlando’s exceptional culinary scene this spring break. Given that we’re home to MICHELIN Guide honorees, celebrity chef-driven restaurants and local James Beard honorees, family-friendly feasts, gourmet food trucks, and much more, they have their work cut out for them. At least they can wash it all down at our local breweries, wineries, speakeasies and other nightlife hotspots.

7. Arriving Here

Whether they’re coming by plane, train, automobile, bus, bike or even hoofing it, our fans can’t wait to arrive in Orlando. Fortunately, getting to Orlando is quick and easy, and a wealth of transportation services are available to help you explore to your heart’s content once you’ve arrived.

6. Gorgeous Weather + Resort Pools

In Orlando, we hear terrifying tales about how skies can stay cold and gray into April (or later!) in other parts of the country. Thanks to our year-round temperate weather and blue skies, it’s not much of a concern here. Instead, our fans are looking forward to kicking back and relaxing in one of our gorgeous resort pools — and on the off-chance we have a spring break day below 70 degrees, most are heated to keep your mind off the late-winter storms back home.

5. All-in-One Retail, Dining & Entertainment Districts

Can’t decide between a tasting tour of acclaimed restaurants, dancing and cocktails to the wee hours, a sensational shopping safari, or experiencing one-of-a-kind attractions you won’t find anywhere else? Great news: Thanks to our open-air retail, dining and entertainment districts, you don’t have to. Our fans are particularly interested in Disney Springs® at Walt Disney World Resort and ICON Park® on International Drive (aka I-Drive), but they’re also eager to explore Universal CityWalk at Universal Orlando Resort, I-Drive’s Pointe Orlando, and The Promenade at Sunset Walk at Margaritaville Resort Orlando. 4. Golf & Mini-Golf

Considering how many golf courses there are in Central Florida (around 150 at last count), as well as our awesome weather, you probably won’t be surprised to hear that we’re a premier golf destination — or that many of our fans are looking forward to hitting the links even more than hitting the parks. Of course, we’re no slouch when it comes to mini-golf, either, with numerous respondents indicating that they’re eager to make big plays on our imaginatively themed small courses.

3. Ecotourism Adventures

Don’t be afraid to get wild in Orlando’s great outdoors — our Instagram followers are planning on it. There are plenty of options in that regard, too, including natural springs, ecotours, birding, nature trails, fishing, kayaking, airboat rides and lots of thrills. Get out there and enjoy it all.

2. Water Parks

Our social media fans are ready to make a splash at our world-famous water parks this spring. Standouts include Universal’s Volcano Bay, Aquatica® Orlando, Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park and LEGOLAND® Water Park, which is available as an upgrade to regular admission to LEGOLAND® Florida Theme Park. Not satisfied with limiting themselves to this already expansive list, our Instagram followers won’t settle for anything less than everything. By which they mean spring events, uplifting arts and culture (including the brand-new Fringe ArtSpace in downtown Orlando), live sports like Concacaf Champions League: USA vs. El Salvador (March 27, 2023), exploring unique neighborhoods, pure relaxation at soothing spas, and much more.
