What to Expect From the Screamin’ Gator Zip Line at Gatorland
First, the basics. Screamin’ Gator Zip Line is a specially ticketed attraction on top of regular admission to Gatorland, but if no one can exceed your need for speed (or gators), it’s definitely worth the price. Plus, a special combo package is available from Visit Orlando powered by BestofOrlando.com to help you save.
The full zip line course consists of seven towers that go as high as 70 feet up. The lines themselves are also long, giving you the chance to reach speeds of up to 35 mph. Don’t worry: They undergo safety checks daily.
Still, traveling over alligators and crocodiles in their natural environment is a, uh, very unique experience that will certainly get your adrenaline going. Want to learn more about those ruthless reptiles? Gatorland’s zip line instructors double as gator experts who will be happy to share some amazing facts about the park’s most famous residents.
In short, if you ever wanted to feel what it’s like to soar through the air like Spider-Man, here’s your chance. (Not that Ol’ Web-Head spends a whole lot of time swinging over gators and crocs, of course. But still.) You’ll also get to travel across a bridge made of wood planks and cable for even more up-high fun.
If all that sounds like too much of a walk — er, swing — on the wild side for your tastes, consider the Gator Gauntlet. Using two shorter towers, this 350-foot, single-zip course will take you over the Alligator Breeding Marsh, where more than 100 giant gators watch you from below. What’s more, the Gator Gauntlet is the only mobility-challenged-accessible zip line on the entire east coast of the United States.
What’s better than experiencing the Screamin’ Gator Zip Line? Experiencing it with friends and family. Happily, Gatorland accepts Screamin’ Gator reservations for groups up to 12 people. You can even get in some head-to-head racing on the course’s tandem zip line section!
There are plenty of other reasons to visit Gatorland when you come to Orlando, including thousands of gators and crocodiles, an aviary, Florida panthers, renowned reptilian shows, the Gatorland Express Train, the Stompin’ Gator Off-Road Adventure, the chance to learn about the park’s conservation efforts, and much more. We’ll see you there!
